Barnet fans take to the air to follow the Bees

This weekend sees Barnet make their longest trip of the season as they make the long journey up north to take on Gateshead in a top-of-the-table clash.

And whilst most supporters will be making the 532-mile round journey by either road or rail, one group of Bees fans have taken the decision to save some time by flying from Heathrow to Newcastle before making the short trip from the airport to Gateshead International Stadium.

With a flight time of just one hour and ten minutes, the travelling party – who go to every Barnet game both home and away whenever possible – will be travelling in style for what promises to be a fascinating game in the Bees’ season.

Talking about how the idea came about, Nicola Morgan said:

“Last year we went up by coach and it was just such a long journey we thought that we’d see how much a train is, but the trains were so expensive we discovered that it was actually cheaper to go up by plane!

“When you are hopefully going to have a good day it is all worth it. After all, it’s not often that you will be able to fly to a Barnet match!”

However they are travelling, we would like to wish all Barnet supporters a safe journey to the game and hope that they will all be able to celebrate a positive result on the long trip home.
