CHAIRMAN HAILS UNDERHILL FAREWELL

An emotional Tony Kleanthous praised the Barnet supporters’ unwavering support after the club bid farewell to Underhill on Saturday.
The Bees’ home of 106-years has staged some absolute crackers over the years but Saturday was definitely a fitting end as Jake Hyde’s late goal and Graham Stack’s even later save secured a 1-0 win.
Speaking post-match on the famous slope, the Chairman praised the supporters, staff and players following a fantastic farewell.
"We never do anything easy, ever! If there is a more difficult way of doing things Barnet will do it.
"We got the result today which was the most important thing. The team was brilliant and Graham Stack was brilliant right at the end.
He continued: "You cannot fault their effort, their commitment and you cannot fault their determination. They came here to do a job today and they did it."
Over 6000 people packed into Underhill, so many that the game was delayed by 15 minutes and the Chairman hailed their exceptional support.
"The crowd stayed behind them every step of the way, they were magnificent. Wouldn’t it be great to have a crowd like that every week, they have been brilliant.
"We are saying goodbye to the old place today but we now move on to new beginnings."
