Edgar Davids and Barnet travel to Home Park in search of a win on Saturday but with Plymouth Argyle rooted to the bottom on Npower League Two the head-coach admitted he would settle for a point.
Just nine points separate the bottom ten sides in League Two but a win on Saturday would see the Bees move seven points clear of the Pilgrims.
Speaking ahead of the long trip west Davids stated his belief that Saturday’s match was more important for the home side but he hopes to extend the gap nonetheless.
“If they draw it is a bigger problem for them than it is for us, we will be going there to win but at the end of the day we are playing away from home.
“We always want to have three points but you look at the table they need the points more than we do. We want to take the three points to create a gap but if it is not possible then we settle for a point.”
With three Serie A titles in the bag the head-coach knows all about winning but he believes that the pressure those threatened by relegation is no different to those chasing promotion.
“We are trying to win every game we have to because every game counts but the pressure on us to win is the same as those who are at the top of the table.
“The target is to be safe and then build for next season, it is still hard to survive but we will do our best and we will give everything to stay in this league.”
With the aims on the pitch simple, survival, Davids also gave an insight into his long-term plans for the club and his footballing philosophies.
“Another target was to develop the youth structure and the structure of the club.
“We also wanted to develop the way we play but it is hard and takes time, we started with almost minus three points and we have taken big steps so don’t forget where we came from.”
Two players who are unlikely to feature against the Pilgrims are John Oster and Craig Beattie, both of whom are suffering with hamstring injuries.
“It will be too soon for John Oster to return but we have great replacements for him.
“Craig Beattie is also injured and I do not think he will be available but you never know.”
