DISAPPOINTED STACK LOOKS FORWARD

Graham Stack refused to make any excuses following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.
Jake Hyde opened the scoring but goals from Conor Hourihane and Ronan Murray either side of the break secured the points for the Pilgrims.
The keeper was unable to hide his disappointment when reflecting upon the defeat and admitted that after taking the lead they should not have lost the game.
“Two sloppy goals were the difference if I am being honest because I do not think either side created a great deal,” said Stack. “We went a goal up and took the initiative away from and home so we should have at least seen it through to half-time.
“Once they got the equaliser they grew in confidence and as soon as they took the lead it was always going to be difficult to break them down.”
Despite the loss Stack sympathised with Plymouth’s current plight after make five appearances for the club earlier in his career.
“It is a shame for Plymouth because over the past few years they have not been in a great place off the pitch,” explained Stack. “It is a beautiful place and even though I only had a brief spell at the club I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
“I got a bit of stick on Saturday but that is all part of returning to an old club. I would certainly have liked to get one over on them but it was not to be which is rather disappointing.”
Futher cause for concern came as Jake Hyde was replaced at the break and although was only precautionary his return will be key with many players already in the treatment room.
“We have a lot of key players missing at the moment like Ricky Holmes, John Oster and Craig Beattie and I am not too sure how Jake Hyde will be.
“Those injuries have taken four experienced players out of the team, younger lads have come in but it is always going to be difficult because you cannot rely on them to change a game.”
Despite this the 31-year-old remained upbeat and believes that with the return of the aforementioned players the Bees will be able to renew their League Two status.
“I personally think that we have got enough about us and we have enough competition for places to achieve what we want to achieve.
“We have still got plenty of time and with the return of one or two key players we can push on and put a run of wins together.”
The Bees host Morecambe on Saturday and after a dismal 4-1 defeat at the Globe Arena earlier this term Stack is desperate to make amends.
“They got a good result at the weekend and they are a very good, physical team. Plus we got hammered when we went up there so it is a game we will be very fired up for.
“It will be a very tough game but like any home match in the league it is one we will look to win, we need to push on from Saturday’s disappointing result and bounce back.”
