Edgar Davids is looking for a positive response from his side when they take on Morecambe on Saturday.
The Bees fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Home Park last weekend and Davids admitted they need to improve tactically and mentally.
Speaking at The Hive the head-coach stated that it will be a tough game especially considering that the Shrimps secured a 3-0 win last time out.
“It is a very tough game and if you look at both sides’ previous matches you will the difference between a team that was determined and a team that was looking to settle.
“Tactically we did not play well and when you are not tactically right you do not look sharp or have the right mentality to win.
“We have to work on our game and add more conviction to it.”
Jake Hyde is just one of the players in a race against time to be fit for the three o’clock kick-off but Davids stated that any player taking part would be fully fit.
“We are looking at a few players last minute but Morecambe are a very aggressive side who press very high up the field.
“You have to be tough and if you are not one hundred per cent then you will get overrun, the important thing is that whoever takes part can and does give 110%.”
The Underhill faithful provided a barrier of noise last time against Southend United and Davids believes you cannot underestimate their unwavering support.
“The crowd can lift or break a squad so they will be very important with the run of games we have.
“They can give you confidence or make you feel like a stranger in your own home so I think it is important that they stand by the team from the first minute until the last.”
The Shrimps secured a 4-1 win at the Globe Arena earlier this season but Davids insists his side have come on leaps and bounds since and will prove just that on Saturday.
“If you look at the last game we played against them two individual errors not only cost us the game but resulted in a 4-1 defeat.
“It is up to us to turn this around and I think that the squad has an opportunity to show what level we are on now compared to when we last played them.
“Last time out they were sharp, intelligent and aggressive but if we match them then it shows that we have grown since our previous meeting.”
