Edgar Davids was pleased with a point despite a dominant performance over League Two leaders Port Vale.

The Bees controlled the game from start to finish and created a number of chances with the visitors rarely testing Graham Stack.

David Stephens also saw his headed goal ruled out but overall Davids explained that he could not fault his player’s performance and the result they secured.

“If you have display like the one we did on Saturday then you cannot ask for anymore from your players.

“When you play against the top team and play such great football you have to be happy regardless of the result.”

He did however admit that following two impressive 3-0 wins, over Aldershot Town and AFC Wimbledon, he did not know how his side would fare against Vale.

“When you play against a side who have just beaten AFC Wimbledon and Aldershot 3-0 you do not know what to expect.

“We were very disciplined and kept our shape throughout the 90 minutes, we have to continue doing this and better days will come.”

Davids was particularly impressed with his front three and man of the match John Oster but admitted they lacked a cutting edge in front of goal.

“Technically we were great and attacking wise we created some good chances but we were unlucky and need to be more clinical.

“Andy (Yiadom) and Jon (Nurse) played well today and provided good support for Jake (Hyde).

“They showed that if you train hard and learn then you will see the benefits when you play games, John Oster also played very well.”

The Bees have dominated their past three fixtures but have secured just one point, despite this the head-coach insists that positive results are not far away.

“We have played extremely well in the past three games and our performances are getting better and better.

“We wanted a point prior to kick-off and that is what we got, we could have had three but I am confident that the win will come.”

That win will however have to come in the absence of talisman Ricky Holmes who was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a foot injury.

“Ricky (Holmes) will be out for the season, it is a big blow for us but you have seen today that we can play well without him.

“Ricky is a very good player and when he is on top form he is threat to any side so he we will miss him.”
