Gambin: “Morale is high”

Luke Gambin says that morale is high in the Barnet camp ahead of this weekend’s trip to Woking in the Vanarama Conference.

Barnet are heading into the game with an eight-point lead over the chasing pack, and following last weekend’s 3-1 win over AFC Telford United at The Hive the Barnet attacker says that spirits are high amongst the players:

“The mood has been really good. Everybody came out to training today and we had a really good session. It was very enjoyable and the buzz in and around the team has been great.

“Morale is very high and everybody is pulling in the same direction so it has been good.”

This weekend’s opponents currently sit in third position in the Conference table, but Gambin says the squad will not be doing anything differently as they prepare to take on the Cardinals at Kingfield Stadium:

“The key to it for us is to keep on doing the same things that we have been doing and that have been working for us so well.

“We’re just going to go in and enjoy playing the game and stick to what we have been doing best, and that has been sticking together and hopefully coming out with the three points.”

Luke is currently in his fifth year at the club having come up through the Academy before making his first-team debut back in April 2012, and the 21-year-old says that he is enjoying his football more than ever as the Bees look to maintain their superb start to the season:

“It is a great squad and we have got a great group with great leaders and great players. It is enjoyable to be around and train with the players at this club every day. We are all enjoying what we are doing and we are all working together to achieve our aims.

“It is a wonderful experience at the moment. I love training every day and being around the boys. We have got a great bunch of lads and everyone gets on with everybody else.

“It is a real family vibe and everyone is looking out for each other so it is all going well and hopefully we can make sure that it stays that way.”
