Arsenal face Southampton tonight at Underhill in the Barclays Under-21 Elite League.
The Gunners enjoyed a fine end to 2012 as an excellent run of form saw them finish second in National Group One.
Despite this they have struggled since the turn of the year and they are yet to win any of their five games since graduating to the elite stage.
Southampton have endured a mixed 2012/13 season so far but their academy remains one of the best in England with the likes of Luke Shaw and Jamie Ward-Prowse impressing at a first-team level.
Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both came through the ranks at St Mary’s along with Gareth Bale, Nathan Dyer and current Saints skipper Adam Lallana.
Further talent is sure to emerge from the Saints academy so they are sure to provide a stern test for Steve Gatting’s side.
Kick-off is at 7.00pm and tickets are free but for those unable to attend Arsenal will be providing live tweets from the match via the @ArsenalLive account from 6.55pm.
