Harry Taylor emphasises defensive trust in Yeovil Town victory

Below you can read every word of our number 16s thoughts on the game.

On the match itself:

We obviously wanted the performance to be better, but it’s all about winning at the end of the day and getting through the eliminator. So now we are through to the semi-finals. So now we need to move on from here.

On the defensive performance:

I think defensively, the three of us (Taylor, Santos and Johnson) we trust each other in one vs ones and we’re always covering each other. But honestly I couldn’t tell you how we’ve done it!

We rode our luck at times with the crossbar and the post but you have to take it, defend well and then hope that our attacker’s score.

On whether the ball crossed the line:

I think it hit about three of us on the line! Loachy saved it, then it hit me and I think it was still on the line before Rico kneed it away, then there guy booted it over. Somehow the ref gave a corner, but it didn’t go in so we will take it!

On Paul McCallum taking his chance:

That’s what we have always said, if we do our job and keep the clean sheet, we trust our attackers to get us a goal. It happened, he is so clinical, he’s done really well!

On the mentality of the squad:

Darren and Junior have worked us hard in the first four weeks that we have been in, with plenty of running to keep us fit and of course the tactical side of things. It obviously not worked in terms of our performance but we’ve got the result so it has (worked).

On Notts County:

It’s the first time in a lot of our careers that we’ve been in a playoff, we are relishing the moment. We have to perform better than today and hopefully, we will get the result.
