Following Tuesday nights frustrating draw with Blackpool, Kevin Nugent was keen to focus on the positives ahead of Saturday’s clash with Accrington Stanley.
“We should be doing better in terms of points. Performances have been good. It’s about keeping positive with it.”
Back at The Hive Kevin met with his side to discuss how to translate those performances into points on the board and gain league position.
“We had a meeting about turning the performances into the points we deserve.”
Kevin was keen to praise his players, while also highlighting that he still expects more from this talented group.
“When you’ve been putting in the performances that we have been, we need to be turning them into points – keeping them [the players] positive all the time but equally letting them know that more is expected of them.”
On Accrington Stanley, Kevin is only too aware of the threat they pose in this very difficult league.
“Any day, any given team can beat anyone. They’ve got some good players, they’ve been together for a while, with an experienced manager who knows what he’s doing.”
Like every game in this division, Kevin is expecting a battle.
“They’re a threat when they get on the ball. It’s gonna be a tough game.”
