John Akinde: Previous Clubs

EBBSFLEET UNITED

Akinde began his career with Ebbsfleet United where he made 28 league appearances scoring ten goals. 
The powerful forward progressed from with the Fleet’s youth ranks and lifted the FA Trophy during his time at Stonebridge Road.
 
Akinde also made seven appearances for Margate, who the Bees will face this pre-season, during a loan spell in 2007.
  
BRISTOL CITY
Akinde joined Bristol City in 2008 in the first-ever transfer decided by a supporters poll. 
The members of MyFootballClub who owned Ebbsfleet United were given 48 hours to vote whether to accept a fee of around £150,000 from an unnamed Football League Club.
Around 80 per cent of members voted to sell and Akinde subsequently joined City on a three-year-deal. 
It didn’t take the 19-year-old long to get back amongst the goals as he scored on his City debut in a 2-2 draw against Plymouth Argyle.

LOAN: Wycombe Wanderers
In March 2009 Akinde joined Wycombe Wanderers on an initial one month loan deal and once again he scored on his debut netting twice in a 3-3 draw against Brentford.
Goals against Darlington and Barnet led to the forward extending his loan spell further and he went on to score seven goals in eleven league appearances for the Chairboys.

LOAN: Wycombe Wanderers
In November 2009 Akinde returned to Wycombe Wanderers on a one month loan deal which was later extended by a further two months.
During this spell he netted once in six league appearances before being recalled by Bristol City on 7 January 2010. 

LOAN: Brentford
On 1 February 2010 Akinde joined Brentford on a one month loan deal during which he made two league appearances, one of which came against former club Wycombe. 

LOAN: Bristol Rovers & Dagenham & Redbridge
Akinde joined rivals Bristol Rovers on a loan deal until January 5 before spending the remainder of the season on loan with Dagenham & Redbridge.

CRAWLEY TOWN
On 27 May 2011 newly promoted Crawley Town beat off competition from higher league competition to sign Akinde ahead of the 2011/12 season. 
Akinde’s first goal for the Reds came at the New Meadow against Shrewsbury Town in season in which he made 31 appearances for the club.
LOAN: Dagenham & Redbridge
Akinde joined Dagenham & Redbridge on loan for a second time in March 2012 making five league appearances before being recalled to help Crawley’s promotion push.  
PORTSMOUTH
Akinde was released by Crawley Town on 31 January 2013 and it took just eight days to find a new club as he joined Portsmouth on a monthly rolling contract. 
He made his debut against Bournemouth but despite going on to make a further ten league appearances he was released at the end of the season. 

ALFRETON TOWN
In August 2013 Akinde signed for Conference Premier side Alfreton Town.
He made his league debut against Kidderminster Harriers before scoring a hat-trick in his second game as the Reds secured a 3-2 win over Salisbury City.
Akinde scored further goals in wins over Hereford United, Macclesfield Town, FC Halifax Town and Braintree Town as Alfreton continued their rise up the Conference Premier table.
The 24-year-old went on to score 18 league goals and notch 12 assists for the Reds in 43 league appearances as Alfreton secured a top ten finish in the Conference Premier.
