John Dreyer joins Burton Albion as Connor Smith is promoted to Assistant Manager

Barnet FC can confirm the departure of John Dreyer who has joined League One side Burton Albion as Assistant Manager

John has been an integral member of our backroom team and we are hugely grateful for his contribution to the Club’s success last season and his hard work and commitment since joining Barnet FC in early 2022.

We are extremely sad to see him leave but would like to wish him the very best for his new role at Burton Albion.

We can confirm that Connor Smith will be stepping up into the role of Assistant Manager with immediate effect.

Dean Brennan, Manager of Barnet FC said,

“I’m gutted that Tumble’s going but at the same time delighted for him. He’s a close friend of mine, a brilliant footballing mind and most importantly a trusted colleague. Our loss is Burton’s gain; they’ve got themselves a real asset.”

On Connor Smith, Brennan continued,

“He’s a bright young talent and very capable too. I’ve known Connor for a long time and his style both on and off the pitch fits really well with our group, so I’m excited to press on with him.”

The Club would like to wish both Connor and John the very best of luck in their new roles.
