Luke Coulson: “I spoke to Bondz N’Gala and Sam Togwell”

New signing Luke Coulson says ex-Bees Sam Togwell and Bondz N’Gala helped sell Barnet to him as he weighed up whether to leave Eastleigh or not.
The 22-year-old became Barnet’s fifth signing of an increasingly busy January transfer window when he moved to The Hive London for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday.
With several players heading to the Silverlake Stadium in recent weeks Coulson didn’t have to look far for an insider’s view on life at Barnet.
Asked what the former Barnet contingent at Eastleigh had said, Coulson replied: “Go! Bondz N’Gala and Sam Togwell were ones I spoke to and as soon as the offer came in I went straight to them to discuss the club and the pros and cons of leaving Eastleigh.
“In the end the pros outweighed the cons and the feedback they gave me made it an easy decision.”
Coulson’s move to The Hive was quick and the former Manchester City wideman said the message from managers Rossi Eames and Henry Newman was clear when the trio met.
“Football,” he said when asked how the pair had sold Barnet to him. “And that’s the easiest way to describe it. I want to be on the ball as much as I can and orchestrate things and play exciting, attacking football and that’s exactly what they’re looking for.
“I want to be part of a club that plays that style of football and I’m delighted they see it the same way.”
Coulson added: “It’s a step up for me which is what I wanted. A few lads have gone in the opposite direction and spoke highly of Barnet and about Henry and Rossi being in charge and what they’re trying to do here. I want to be part of that.”
