Martin Allen On Braintree Town

Barnet’s players are desperate to put on a show in their final home fixture of the season according to head-coach Martin Allen.
The Bees take on Braintree Town as their first season at The Hive comes to an end live on BT Sport before a trip to Lincoln City next weekend in the final fixture.
Despite having virtually no chance of securing a play-off spot Allen revealed he will pick his strongest side who will be desperate to win.
"The players who lost to FC Halifax Town are absolutely gagging to play to put on a good performance and I think it’s the right thing to do with Braintree being on the edge of the play-offs."
Allen continued by reflecting on the disappointment following the defeat to Halifax whilst targeting a winning end to the season.
"It was a very disappointed dressing room after Halifax, in front of our own supporters," admitted Allen.
"We all felt, me included, very down after that game. We were all upset with ourselves because we didn’t really do it on the day in front of our own supporters & there was a really good atmosphere, a real buzz around the ground that day and it didn’t happen.
Braintree Town are just a point outside the play-offs and Allen believes playing his strongest team is the right thing to do.
"I think it’s the right thing to do to play our best team and I think that’s the fair thing to do to all the other clubs that are at that level around those play-offs."
"I’ve got to do the right thing for them and of course for the players that played against Halifax. I want to see them back on the field and doing what I know they can do."
