Martin Allen signs a new deal!

Barnet FC are delighted to announce that Martin Allen has signed a new contract with the club.

Allen has been in charge of the Bees since March 2014, making him the 14th longest serving manager in the Football League.

He is currently enjoying a fourth spell in the Barnet dugout, having saved the club from relegation in 2012 and won the Conference title in 2014-15.

Bees’ Chairman Tony Kleanthous was pleased to see Martin extend his stay at The Hive, saying:

“I made it clear during the summer that we needed to make some big signings and that is what we’re doing.

“Martin has made fantastic changes at this club – we’ve made huge strides and great progress since he joined us.

“He took us up into the Football League and now we want to continue that progress.

“He’s certainly the man to help us achieve more success and that is what we’re hungry for.”

Reflecting on his new deal, Martin said:

“I’ve had several meetings with the Chairman throughout the summer.

“We both sat down and chatted about the progress that we’ve made, which has been good to a point.

“But more importantly we’ve spoken about the future and bringing our young players through – developing the playing squad and the club as a whole.

“The Chairman has made good signings this summer and we’ve got another centre forward that should be joining us next week as well, which is good news.

“I feel that we’ve now got a far better squad than we had last season.

“There has been better recruitment this year, so we’re in a good place and are all ready to go.

“Someone asked me how long this contract is for… I don’t even know!

“I think I’m here forever now, God bless!

“We’ll have to see how it all pans out, but I can’t wait to get things started when we go up to Cambridge next weekend.

“I’d just like to thank the Barnet fans for all their support.

“From that team in the Conference to where we are now – it’s been very exciting.

“So thank you for all your support and the kindness that you’ve shown me since I’ve been back at the club.”

Everyone at Barnet FC are thrilled to see Martin extend his stay with the Bees and hope that the team enjoys a successful 2016-17 season under his stewardship!
