OPPOSITION DUGOUT

Luke Garrard

Luke Garrard begun his playing career as a trainee at Tottenham Hotspur, before being released while still at school.

He then signed for Swindon Town as an apprentice, where he made his professional debut.

The now 36-year-old then spent time at Bishop’s Stortford, Northwood and Boreham Wood before his move to AFC Wimbledon – a club that he made over 100 appearances for.

Garrard returned to the Wood in 2015, taking over from Ian Allinson as manager. In doing so, it made him the youngest manager in the top five divisions in England.

ONE TO WATCH

Jamal Fyfield

Born in London, Jamal Fyfield started playing for Leyton Orient where he signed a two-year scholarship in 2005 before moving to Maidenhead United in 2007.

The defender then went on to play for York City, Grimsby Town and Welling United before enjoying spells at Wrexham and Gateshead.

With his extensive experience, the 6ft 1ins defender has been a regular starter at Boreham Wood since arriving in 2018.

After being ruled out with a hamstring injury since the end of January, Fyfield returned to the starting eleven for their last game against Chesterfield.
