Team News: Long term absentee Gavin Hoyte will be unavailable for this match, as will Jamie Stephens who is still recovering from his operation this summer. However the Bees strengthened their goalkeeping department last week by bringing in loanee Josh Vickers from Swansea City.

New Arrivals: Barnet have added to their attacking options in the last few days – Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro has joined the Bees on a permanent basis and former Sheffield United winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce has arrived at The Hive. A total of five players have now joined Barnet since the end of last season. The club also have a new captain in Michael Nelson, as well as a new vice-captain in Sam Togwell.  

Opposition Form: Cambridge have won two, drawn two and lost one of their five pre-season friendlies. They embarked on a tour of Germany in July, beating KFC Uerdingen (4-2) and drawing with SG Wattenscheid 09 (3-3).

Dangerman: Striker Joe Pigott has been on good form since arriving from Charlton Athletic in the summer, finding the net on four occasions during pre-season.

Last Time Out: The U’s lost their final pre-season match to Aston Villa. Goals from Scott Sinclair, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Gary Gardner helped the Villains to a 3-0 win.
