The Bees have been unable to play since their agonising 1-0 defeat to Solihull Moors and will look to make amends on that result against Chorley on Saturday.

Tuesday nights fixture was cut short when the decision was made to abandon the game with the scores level at 1-1 against Harrogate Town. After falling behind to an early goal, the Bees dominated the first half and levelled through Paul McCallum. Despite the game being abandoned, Currie will take a lot of confidence into this weekend’s match.

Prior to this, an away trip to Solihull Moors ended in defeat, bringing to an end the Bees’ 12 game unbeaten run following a penalty from Terry Hawkridge. However, the Bees again dominated large spells of that game and will be confident of returning to winning ways this weekend.

Chorley FC

Manager: Jamie Vermiglio

Form: LDLDL

League Position: 24th Position (26 Points)

Top Scorer: Alex Newby (6 Goals)

The Magpies have endured a difficult season after their promotion last season from the National League North that now sees them lay at the foot of the table.

Last season, Chorley were promoted via the play-offs having finished second in the league where they faced Spennymoor Town in a tense affair that finished 1-1 after extra time and a penalty shootout soon followed which saw the Magpies promoted to the National League.

Although safety will be difficult to secure, Chorley will be sure to give it their all for the remainder of the season whilst still possible.

One to Watch: Alex Newby

The young forward Alex Newby joined the Magpies in January 2018 having impressed at Clitheroe, a side he played after having formally being associated with Bolton and Barrow.

Newby tops the goal scoring charts for Chorley this season with six goals and his abilities could cause problems for the Bees’ defence.

Last time we met: Barnet 2-1 Chorley

When the teams faced off at The Hive London in November the Bees took all three points. The Magpies took the lead through Marcus Carver and led at the break fro before goals from Jack Taylor and Mauro Vilhete completed the comeback for Currie’s side.

Pre-match minutes applause:

There will be a minutes applause pre-match to honour Brian Pilkington, Chorley’s life president who sadly passed away in the week. We ask all Bees fans to join in the tribute alongside our hosts.
