The Bees:

Barnet come into this fixture on the back of some positive form in the league and in the FA Trophy. The Bees have won their last two league games and secured their place in the Second Round of the FA Trophy last week.

A young side took the field on Tuesday night and looked to have secured a pass into the next round of the Middlesex Senior Challenge Cup until Staines Town equalised with just seven minutes left to play. However, the Bees’ form prior to this fixture had been positive having beaten Weymouth in the FA Trophy where Currie’s side will now face Farsley Celtic in January. Currie’s side also secured three points over AFC Fylde and Ebbsfleet United, the latter with an emphatic victory.

 

The Opposition:

The Magpies have identical form to the Bees in the last five fixtures and will be hoping to improve on their poor home form so far this season which has seen them only win two games out of the 13 they have played at York Road. Devonshire’s side are currently sitting 16^th in the league and only five points above the relegation zone.

Their most recent result came in the FA Trophy against Hemel Hempstead which was a hard-fought game but two goals in the 72^nd and 74^th minute ensured that the home side secured their place in the Second Round.

 

The Gaffer: Alan Devonshire

Alan Devonshire had a lengthy career throughout the mid 70s and through to 1990 with West Ham United, making over 350 appearances for the Hammers where he won the FA Cup in 1980. He left West Ham in 1990 and joined Watford where he finished his career. Over his playing career, he earned eight England caps.

He had managed Maidenhead United previously between 1996 and 2003 as well as Hampton & Richmond Borough and Braintree Town before returning to the Magpies in 2015 where he has managed since.

 

One to Watch: Daniel Whitehall

Daniel Whitehall has been in fine form for Maidenhead United having scored nine goals so far this season. He signed for the Magpies in the summer of 2019 having made a name for himself in the United States.

The former Liverpool, Rochdale, Southport and Marine forward will certainly look to add to his goals throughout the season as he continues to excite the Maidenhead fans.
