Gary Johnson

 

Gary Johnson started his playing career at Watford FC before enjoying time at Malmö FF, Soham Town Rangers, Newmarket Town and Cambridge United.

 

The 66-year-old earned his coaching badges after hanging his boots up and began managing Newmarket Town in 1986. Since then, he has managed a total of 10 teams.

 

Johnson joined Torquay United in September 2018 and guided them to the National League South title in his first season.

 

During the 2020/21 season, Johnson took the team to the National League Play-Off Final, but fell short on penalties against Hartlepool United.

 

ONE TO WATCH

 

Armani Little

 

The English midfielder began his career with Southampton FC where he joined as a 12-year-old, before signing his first professional contract in 2015.

 

Following his release from the Saints, he joined Oxford United on a one-year deal, which included a brief loan period with Woking FC.

 

The 24-year-old signed for Torquay United in 2019 and is the Club’s top goalscorer this season with 10 goals in 23 league games.
