Mel Gwinnett to depart Barnet

It has been announced that our first team coach, Mel Gwinnett, will depart Barnet Football Club to join Hampton & Richmond Borough Football Club.

Mel joined Dean Brennan’s coaching team last summer and has played an influential role since arriving at The Hive.

Mel has played a pivotal role in the impressive form of our Number One. Laurie Walker, and has also developed other players such as James Callan and Aymen Azaze.

Mel also played a huge part in analysing, match preparations, player development and much more within the coaching setup.

He will take up the position of Head of Football Operations and First Team Manager in South-West London next week, after Barnet’s trip to Solihull Moors in the FA Trophy.

Everyone at Barnet would like to thank Mel for his time here at Barnet and wish him the very best of luck with his future endeavours.
