News | Bees nominated for Giant Killing Award

The Bees 1-0 win away at Sheffield United in the Third Round defied the odds and the 84-places separating the two sides, the biggest difference overturned by any club in the ‘proper’ rounds of the competition this season.

The Blades would not concede another goal at Bramall Lane until the tail end of March, yet another sign of how great an achievement this result was.

The win meant the Bees were the final non-league side left standing and produced another thriller in the following round, an unforgettable 3-3 draw against Brentford under the lights at The Hive.

Darren Currie’s men do face stiff competition and will have to beat Oldham Athletic, Newport County and AFC Wimbledon if they are to claim the prize.
