Nugent – “In this league you can go on a five game winning streak.”

“I’m really pleased we got the win. The lads showed real character to come back in difficult circumstances. They showed bravery to come back.”
Following a tough first half where Cheltenham were hard to break down, Nugent made changes after the break that ended up impacting the game, including the addition of Curtis Weston.
“I made a few personnel changes. We were playing against a team with five at the back. It was hard to make things happen.”
“I needed fresh legs. I needed to freshen it up. I was so pleased with Curtis.”
Losing young Shane Cojocarel to injury on his first senior start, was a blow to the Bees.
Kevin was full of praise for the youngster and confirmed the extent of his injury.
“He seems to have broken his forearm, both bones. Shane was excellent. Probably our best player in the first half. We lost a bit when he went off.”
Nugent admitted it was a tricky half time team talk, but had confidence that his players would respond.
“I said to them you’re in this game. You’ve come back before against Crawley twice. Show me that passion and spirit. You’ve been training really well, but it has to happen on a Saturday.”
The Gaffer is now hopeful that Cheltenham’s result can spark a run for his side and get them back to where they should be in the table.
“I know the mentality can be fragile. You get a win and a goal and it changes. In this league you can go on a five game winning streak.”
