Preview | Barnet FC U18’s v Bishop’s Stortford U18’s – FA Youth Cup

The winner of the tie will face a trip to either Peterborough Sports or Walsham-Le-Willows in the next stage.

Previous Round:

Barnet came out on top in the previous hurdle, beating Boreham Wood 2-0 at The Hive. Rio Connell opened the scoring on 52 minutes when his free-kick found the bottom corner. Dimeji Adeniran tapped in Okem Chime’s rebounded effort soon after to ensure progression to the Third Qualifying Round.

As for Bishop’s Stortford, they ran riot against Braintree Town, claiming a 5-1 win at the ProKit UK Stadium.

Last Time Out:

The Bees enter tomorrow’s game on high spirits after beating Leyton Orient 5-2 on Saturday. Chime bagged a brace whilst Connell, Adeniran and Antonis Vasilou also found the net to ensure Barnet clinched maximum points. The Young Bees sit sixth in Group C of the Youth Alliance League.

Last Season’s Youth Cup Form:

Barnet secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Wingate & Finchley in the opening round of the FA Youth Cup last season. Roy Syla, Benjy Aghadiuno and a brace from Greg Adinna ensured The Bees eased through to the next round. However, it was a different story at the second hurdle as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to MK Dons.

Bishop’s Stortford endured a similar outcome at the Second Round stage last season too. After easing to a 5-1 win over Halstead Town in the Preliminary round, they went on to beat Royston Town 2-0 in the First Round Qualifying. They knocked out Thurrock by the same score-line at the next stage before securing another 2-0 win in the following round against Woodbridge Town. Despite beating Boreham Wood 3-1 in the First Round, their run ended in the second after falling to a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Colchester United.
