After drawing 1-1 against FC Halifax Town on Tuesday night, Barnet will be hoping to go one better when they welcome Hartlepool United to The Hive London tomorrow afternoon.

Last Meeting:

The Bees will be looking for a bit of deja vu this weekend as they came out on top the last time these two sides met, winning 3-1 back in November.

They had to come from behind to clinch victory though as Peter Kioso opened the scoring with only 10 minutes on the clock. However, two goals in quick succession from Manny Duku turned the game on its head before Josh Walker made sure of the three points in stoppage time.

Manager: Craig Hignett

Craig Hignett was appointed Hartlepool boss for the second time in January after starting his managerial career at the Pools in 2016 in a spell that lasted just under a year.

Since his permanent appointment just under two months ago, he has overseen three wins in eight games and will be hoping to add a fourth tomorrow.

As a player, Hignett began his career at Crewe Alexandra where he would go on to make over 100 appearances for the club before doing it again at Middlesbrough from 1992 to 1998. Whilst at the latter, he won the Football League First Division whilst securing a runner-up medal in the FA Cup, League Cup and the First Division. He went on to play for Aberdeen and Barnsley before featuring over 50 times for Blackburn where he won the 2002 League Cup. He left for Cyprus in 2005 following stints at Coventry, Leicester, a return to Crewe, Leeds and Darlington to play for Apollon Limassol. He only lasted a year though and would return to England to join Spennymoor before a short spell at Hartlepool in 2007 where he hung up his boots.

One to Watch: Nicke Kabamba

Striker Kabamba joined the Pools in January on loan from Havant & Waterlooville and has already netted five goals, all coming within his first four games at the club.

However, the forward hasn’t scored in a month but he will be eager to end that drought tomorrow afternoon and the Bees back-line will have to be on top of their game if they are to keep him at bay.

Recent League Form:

Hartlepool, who sit 13th, have won once in their last five league games.

A goalless draw away at Ebbsfleet last month was followed up by a 2-1 defeat when they welcomed Bromley four days later. They had to settle for another draw in their next fixture when travelling to Sutton, this time the score ended 2-2. However, they returned to winning ways a week later, beating Dover Athletic 3-2 Victoria Park. They go into tomorrow’s game off the back of a defeat though having lost 4-2 away at Fylde on Tuesday night.

The Pools have also won six of their 19 games on the road this season and have bagged 47 goals, conceding 53.
