Q&A WITH THE CHAIRMAN

Chairman Tony Kleanthous to Answer Your Questions
2011/2012 was certainly an eventful year for Barnet Football Club. There was the appointment of Lawrie Sanchez as First Team Manager, the cup runs that almost had us knocking on the doors of Wembley and, of course, a relegation battle which saw the mighty Bees safe on the final day of the league campaign (for the 3rd year in a row!). Throw in the sacking of Sanchez, the three-game-reappointment-of-former-Manager Martin Allen, and a player merry-go-round and we had plenty to talk about at EN5!
Off the pitch there was just as much theatre – the start of the season saw a continuation of the struggle between our club and Barnet Council (this was to be a running theme throughout the months that followed). Despite Barnet FC spending over £1millIon towards relocating to Barnet Copthall, the only possible new site for the club, the local council decided to offer it to a rugby club instead. This brought about a continued struggle throughout the season, culminating with Barnet Council refusing to renew a 125-year lease for Underhill and the club announcing we would be leaving our stadium. However, thanks to an incredible amount of effort from the club, and cooperation by Barnet Council, an announcement was issued towards the latter part of the season stating that we would be staying at our home for one more year! And of course, it was also recently announced that Harrow Council approved our move to play League football at The Hive for the next 10 years starting from Season 13/14!
Add to all these events the sad passing of a dear friend of Barnet Football Club, Dennis Signy OBE, and we have really had a year full of talking points.
With all this taking place, we understand that many Bees fans will have questions they would like answered on a number of these topics and more. And now is the perfect opportunity to put those questions to us…
Barnet FC Chairman, Tony Kleanthous, is making himself available, as he does every year, to openly and transparently answer questions from Bees supporters. Should there be any matter you would like to ask him about all you need to do is email fansquestions@barnetfc.com and include ‘CHAIRMAN’S Q&A’ in your subject heading. We are expecting a high volume of questions, so please aim to keep your emails concise and don’t forget to include your name!
You will only have a limited time to get these questions in, so make sure you grab your chance. All the questions will be answered by The Chairman himself and posted on our website and in our Match Day Programme throughout the beginning of the 2012-2013 Season. We will make sure all topics are covered – some supporters may send duplicate questions.
We can’t wait to hear from you!
