Report | Hendon FC 2-0 Barnet FC – Middlesex Senior Cup

The Greens took the lead after just 7 minutes when Harly Wise powered home the loose ball following Fuad Sule’s goalline clearance.

In the 24th minute, George Legg, making his first start in a Barnet shirt, produced a superb one-handed save from close range to deny his former club from doubling their lead.

The first clear-cut chance for the Bees came in the 36th minute when Shane Cojocarel saw his effort cleared off of the line.

After the break, Andre Blackman forced a good save out of Tom Lovelock in the Hendon goal. From the corner, captain Joe Payne had an effort blocked on the line, it fell to Darnell Smith whose effort was deflected up, Tin Plavotic headed towards goal but again it was denied by the Hendon ‘keeper.

Soon after this, it was 2-0 when Harold Joseph poked home from a corner kick.

After the hour-mark, Fumnaya Shomotun flashed a shot across the face of goal.

Coulthirst was also brought down by Lovelock but referee Daniel Simpson waved play on.

In the dying moments, Ephron Mason-Clark had two efforts remarkably cleared off the line as Hendon defended like their lives depended on it.

Hendon progress to the Middlesex Senior Cup final where they will take on Staines Town.
