Sam Togwell will undergo a hernia operation on Thursday and be sidelined for the next six weeks as he recovers, Martin Allen has confirmed.
Barnet’s vice-captain started Saturday’s EFL League Two defeat to Doncaster Rovers, playing 78 minutes before making way for Alex Nicholls.
Speaking after the 3-2 loss at Doncaster, head coach Allen said: "Togwell is going into hospital on Thursday to have an operation. So he is going to be out for six weeks.
"It’s something he’s been carrying for a couple of weeks and today will be his last game before he goes under the knife.
"He has done really well for us. He’s been a good player, great in the dressing room and on the pitch. But he has been carrying it for two or three weeks. This Thursday was the quickest we could get him in."
