Stevenage Preview

Barnet continue their pre-season preparations tomorrow night at The Hive with a game against Stevenage at 19:45.

Speaking ahead of the game, Allen was pleased to announce that he had a full complement of players to choose from following Barnet’s first run-out of the season against Peterborough United at the weekend:
“We’ve got a full squad of fit players for tomorrow night’s game against Stevenage. We picked up no injuries on Saturday and I thought that the players looked very fit. I thought we played some good football and were unlucky not to win, even though they did have some good chances.”
He also revealed that he would be adopting a slightly different approach for the midweek game, both in terms of personnel and the amount of game time afforded to the players:
“We’re going to make a few changes, even though the team that played in the first half on Saturday played very well, we’re going to mix it up a little bit.
Most of the players will get to play 60 minutes and then there will be another group to come on after an hour. We’ve got another couple of lads coming in to play so we’ll have a good look at them tomorrow too.”
Finally, the manager was clearly relishing the challenge ahead as Barnet’s pre-season programme picks up momentum:
“It’s a local derby which is always good and they drew with West Ham on Saturday so I’m sure that it will be an exciting game both to watch and to be involved in and we are all really looking forward to the match.”
