The Hive played host to a day of community football last Thursday, as the winners of the Harrow Primary Schools League faced off against each other in front of the Barnet FC first team squad.
Whitchurch and St George’s schools were the eventual finalists, with the latter winning the tournament after a penalty shootout.
Bees’ striker John Akinde gave St George’s some penalty advice before the spot kicks, while Graham Stack was on hand to console the losing side after the final.
The runner up medals were presented by Sam Togwell to Whitchurch School, with Stack handing over the winners’ medals to St George’s. The trophy was awarded at the end of the tournament by Barnet captain Andy Yiadom.
The whole day was a great success and was enjoyed by everyone. Thanks to all the teams that participated, and congratulations to our winners St George’s School!
