The Hive hosts the FA Schools Pokémon Cup for Middlesex!

Last Wednesday afternoon, The Hive London hosted the English FA Schools Pokémon Cup for Middlesex.

The Pokémon Cup is the English Schools’ FA’s national small-sided competition for Primary Schools.

Teams competed to be the Middlesex champions and go on to play in the regional competition against other counties.

The teams consisted of year 5 & 6 pupils from 12 local schools in the Middlesex borough and it was a brilliant afternoon of football for all of those involved!

Alma school won the boys competition and Foulds school won the girls tournament. They will now both go on to represent the county.

The children were treated to a surprise when Barnet FC striker, Daniel Powell made an appearance at the tournament.

Powell posed for photos and signed autographs for the children as well as doing Q&A sessions with the teams.

Students got to find out what day-to-day life is like for a professional footballer and asked various questions. They found out who Daniel thought was better between Messi and Ronaldo, Saka and Grealish as well as what he ate, his other favourite sports and much more!
