THE HIVE UPDATE

Work is continuing to take place at The Hive with the ground-works well underway.
As with any new development, the ground-works are the most essential and time-consuming part of the project and are progressing as planned.
In the last week a ground level dig has been completed to grade the existing surface levels across the back of the West Stand.
Work on the pitch is also well underway and on Thursday the majority of the foliage was stripped from what will eventually be the club’s new playing surface.
An irrigation system has also been installed to meet standard Football League requirements.
The ground levels surrounding the other stands will soon be graded before the foundations of the West Stand are built and a drainage system is put in place.
Electrical ducts are already installed allowing pipes to be easily laid to provide electricity to all stands for the lighting, CCTV, tannoy system and more.
The new West Stand, which will seat over 2600 people, is currently being manufactured off site and will be installed following the completion of the remaining groundwork.
In addition to work being carried out on the new stadium, The Hive continues to grow in all areas.
Last week The Hive Banqueting Suite held its inaugural event, hosting over 300 people which was a resounding success. The Suite will host a further event in April, a fundraising evening for Barnet Sports Development featuring Edgar Davids and Ray Wilkins. For further information please click here.
The Hive Gym and Bar are continuing to prove a great success and a brand new website to encompass all areas of The Hive is currently under construction.
We will provide more updates and images as building work progresses on the stadium.
