Vilhete agrees long-term deal

Barnet FC are delighted to announce that Mauro Vilhete has signed an extended contract with the Bees that will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2016/17 season.

Commenting on the deal, Mauro admitted that he was pleased to have his future sorted, saying:

“I’m very pleased. The club gave me my break in football and have always been there to help me.

“There have been good times and bad times but at the moment it is going well so I just want to do well for the club and help them get to where we should be.”

The 21-year-old midfielder has already made 70 appearances for the Bees having become their youngest ever Football League player when we made his debut back in 2010 aged just 16.

Having made five appearances for the club this season, including starting in four of the Bees’ five wins so far this campaign, Mauro is aiming to continue his current form throughout what promises to be an exciting season for Barnet:

“We’ve got lots of competition for places on the wings but it is all about how I dedicate myself. I carry on doing what I’ve been doing then hopefully I can keep my place in the team and keep pushing on.

“So far this season has gone well so hopefully I can continue my good run of form and help the team push for promotion.”
