Youth Team prepare for derby

The Barnet Youth Team have been preparing for their local derby tomorrow, as they take on Watford in the Football League Youth Alliance.

The game will take place at the London Colney training ground, with a kick-off time of 10:30.

The U18s are currently on a run of four consecutive victories and find themselves in third position in the league, just one point off the top.

They will welcome back Matthew Stevens following his involvement with the First Team against Alfreton Town last weekend, coming off the bench in the 83rd minute to become the youngest ever player to represent Barnet aged just 16 years and 207 days.

Speaking ahead of the game, Academy Manager Henry Newman said:

"We almost have a fully-fit squad to choose from, and competition for places amongst the players is high.

"Watford are always a good side and play some good football. It will provide a different test. Last week Luton were a very physical side, whereas Watford will be more technical.

"With the games coming thick and fast over the next five to six weeks, we are looking to continue our strong start to the season and are focused on climbing even higher in the league."
