Youth Team up to third after another win

The Barnet Youth Team climbed to third in the league after an impressive victory over high-flying Luton Town at The Hive on Saturday.

Despite missing a penalty early on, the young Bees raced into a 2-0 lead midway through the first half. Midfielder Jack Taylor scored the first, coolly finishing a loose ball in the box after a well-worked set piece, before Shane Cojocarel doubled the home side’s advantage.

Luton have also enjoyed a strong start to the season however, and their powerful side soon hit back to draw the scores level before the interval with some good attacking play as the hosts took their foot off the gas.

Yet Barnet quickly rallied, and dominated the second half with a high-tempo performance featuring lots of excellent combination play.

Nana Emmanuel put the Bees back in front, pouncing on a parry by the goalkeeper following a superb passing move.

Barnet continued to create numerous chances during the second period, before Elliott Harris then wrapped up the three points with a clinical finish from 12 yards out after a break down the right-hand side.

The Youth Team’s next game sees them visit Watford on Saturday as they look to continue their current excellent run of form.
