MATCH REPORT | AFC FYLDE 2-4 BARNET FC

The Bees came from behind to win a six goal thriller at Mill Farm against in-form AFC Fylde.

Dean Brennan’s side would go 1-0 down within 10 minutes at Mill Farm after the referee awarded the home side a penalty which was converted by Nick Haughton.

Nine minutes later Zak Brunt split the Fylde defence and found Gatlin O’Donkor on the attack. O’Donkor excellently finished his strike and brought The Bees back level.

Barnet would complete the turnaround before the half hour mark as Zak Brunt found Harry Pritchard who beat the keeper at the neat post to put The Bees ahead.

The lead wouldn’t last as two minutes later Haughton equalised.

HT: AFC Fylde 2-2 Barnet FC

Barnet’s first big chance of the half came through Gatlin O’Donkor. Harry Pritchard’s cross found the forward in the Fylde box but O’Donkor could not keep his effort on target.

Theo Richardson was forced to make a good diving save from Luke Freeman who went for goal from the edge of the Fylde box.

The Barnet chances kept coming as Harry Pritchard had an attempt at goal from close range which was blocked and cleared away.

The goal finally came as Freeman’s cross found the head of Reece Hall-Johnson who made no mistake finding the back of the net.

The Bees would soon add a fourth goal after a mistake from Richardson would allow Callum Stead to go through on goal and walk the ball into the empty net.

Richardson would make the same mistake again which allowed Stead through on goal from a tight angle. The forward could only put his effort into the side netting.

Harry Pritchard was called into action defensively. Fylde had a shot acrobatically cleared off the line by Pritchard before the midfielder put his body on the line to deny Fylde again.

That secured all three points for The Bees and sent the travelling support home happy.
