MATCH REPORT | ALDERSHOT TOWN 1-0 BARNET FC

The Bees fell short at the EBB Stadium losing 1-0 to Aldershot Town on Tuesday evening.

The game started with an early penalty shout for The Bees as Luke Freeman was tripped in the box. The claims were waved away by the referee.

The Bees first shot of the game came through Gatlin O’Donkor. The forward made a great run into The Shots box before going for goal. His effort was well saved by the keeper.

Straight down the other end, Aldershot almost took the lead as their effort came off the post and rolled along the line before Connor Stevens excellently cleared the ball away from danger.

Aldershot would have two further attempts with a curling effort from outside the box and an attempted chip over Josh Keeley both going well wide of the target.

Keeley was called into action minutes later as he denied Aldershot taking the lead with a stop with his feet.

Aldershot had the first chance of the second half when a cross across the face of goal was almost poked home by The Shots forward but he could not get anything on the ball.

Dean Brenan made his first change with twenty minutes left of play as Callum Stead replaced Luke Freeman.

Ten minutes after coming on, Callum Stead had the best chance of the game after a scramble on the goal-line with the keeper somehow didn’t cross the line.

Aldershot had the ball in the back of the net with nine minutes left of play but the referee ruled the goal out after a foul on the keeper.

Four minutes later the hosts did find the winner as Kwame Thomas’ deflected effort beat Keeley.

It could have been 2-0 moments later when the home side struck the post.
