Match Report | York City 1-0 Barnet

Barnet fell to a second defeat in three days at the hands of York City at The LNER Community Stadium.

Dean Brennan named six changes from the team that lost on penalties to Gateshead on Saturday.

It was a slow start for The Bees. York dominated the first half with John-Lewis and Forde having many chances to put the hosts into the lead.

Walker made an excellent fingertip save to deny York again.

York did find the opener on the 40th minute mark through Forde. The forward put his strike across to the far corner of the Barnet net which Walker couldn’t do anything about.

The Bees only chance of the half was an effort by Courtney Senior on the edge of the box which didn’t test the keeper.

HT: York City 1-0 Barnet

Kabamba and Diarra made way for Kanu and Moyo at the break as Kabamba suffered a groin injury.

Walker was very fortunate early into the second half as he came rushing out of his area to collect clear the ball which he missed. Luckily the York City forward took a heavy touch which rolled past the empty net.

York had a collection of chances which they could not take but in the end, it didn’t cost them as Barnet didn’t challenge their goal and the game finished 1-0.

It was a day to forget for The Bees who played their fourth away game in eight days and will be looking to turn their attentions to Bromley on Good Friday.
